Fully Embrace Your Identity 1 | New Things

Today, we’re going to start the first installment of an 8-part series called FULLY EMBRACE YOUR IDENTITY?

The Word of God says, “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed (Matthew 24:6a NIV).

That Scripture makes me think of physical wars, YET there is a war just as REAL going on in the SPIRIT realm and it’s about your identity in Christ. But don’t be alarmed…

This series will help you to continue to develop the fullness of your identity in Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5:17 HCSB it says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a NEW CREATION; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.”

First and foremost, we know about salvation, so we know that we’ve been made one with Christ. But the Word says, “new things” plural “have come.”

So, let’s take a look at some NEW THINGS that have come to us because of our decision to receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.

The first new thing we’ll look at is in (Psalm 139:3-6 TPT).

As I read this Scripture, I want you to get this image embedded in your mind and heart.

3-4You are so intimately aware of me, Lord.
You read my heart like an open book
and you know all the words I’m about to speak
before I even start a sentence!
You know every step I will take before my journey even begins.
You’ve gone into my future to prepare the way,
and in kindness you follow behind me
to spare me from the harm of my past.
You have laid your hand on me!
This is just too wonderful, deep, and incomprehensible!
Your understanding of me brings me wonder and strength.

If you’re already aware of this, wait just one moment! I want you to receive even deeper.

When I hear the word masterpiece, the first thing I typically think of are paintings. One of the highest paid paintings is that of Salvator Mundi, which is Latin for Savior of the world. This work of art has been attributed wholly or in part to Leonardo da Vinci, although some dispute it; nevertheless…

In November of 2017, this painting sold for over 457 million dollars.

Let that sink in for a moment…457 million!

Unless you’re currently a billionaire, that number may seem quite extraordinary.

Yet, how much more EXTRAORDINARY are you? You were handcrafted by the Creator of the entire universe. You, my friend, are PRICELESS.

So, the first NEW THING is for you to KNOW and EMBRACE that God, Himself, knit you together, and that you are His workmanship—you are His MASTERPIECE.

To fulfill your purpose, you must fully embrace your identity in Christ.

To embrace your identity, you can’t think of yourself as a work of art that has been damaged.

Many human professionals do their best to restore artwork that has been damaged to its original grandeur. But no human hands can restore a priceless work of art such as yourself—only the Master can.

This week meditate on the entirety of Psalm 139 and allow God’s Words to take deep root in your heart, and to repair and restore anything He sees fit.

Now that’ll help get to the point of purpose…see you next time for part 2.
