He’s In You

Has anyone ever said to you, “You need a mentor or a teacher to advance to the next level?”

This person can see your blind spots and help you navigate new terrain.

I believe that’s true, but first let’s consider this…

The Greater One lives in you.

1 John 4:4b NASB says,

…greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Not only does the Greater One live in you, but He also sent you a comforter, a teacher.

John 14:26 ESV reads,

But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.

Holy Spirit is a teacher.

I have a friend that has been praying the names of God for quite some time.

The Lord spoke to her and said, “Every time you say my Name say, “…lives in me.”

For example, say, “Jehovah Rapha lives in me. Jehovah Shalom lives in me.”

He pointed out that it’s one thing to recite His Name, but it’s another to   understand that all of His attributes live in you.

Sometimes, I think we start believing that God’s way out there, but He’s as close as our breathe. Let’s remember Who’s on the inside of us.

Ok so now we remember or know He’s on the inside of us. So why aren’t things happening for many of us?

  1. Check your obedience to His Word, and you may have to ask the Lord directly if you’ve been disobedient in any area.
  • Ask yourself, “Do I need to appropriate His blessing?”

What do I mean?

Well, many things are simply given to us by God, but we must appropriate other things.

To appropriate means to take (something) for one’s own use, typically, without the owner’s permission.

We, the children of God, have full permission from the Lord as long as we’re obedient to His Word.

That means everyday believers can do amazing things.

John 14:12 NASB 1995 says,

“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

Know this: everything that flows in Him flows in us.

Healing flows through us—

Peace flows through us— because He’s in us.

Check your perspective. Don’t listen to the enemy. He’s not just out there. He’s omnipresent; He’s everywhere.

Let’s appropriate it by understanding He’s in us…by being obedient to His Word…by speaking His Words…by following His instructions…by reaching first for the Teacher that’s in us.

You might be saying, “I do all of that!”

Let me ask you this. When is the last time you worried or were anxious?

I can tell you for myself not too long ago. I can’t even tell you what I was anxious about, but I was disobedient to Philippians 4:6-7 NIV that says,

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

So, I started rehearsing the Word out loud or in my mind depending on where I was.

Don’t be anxious about anything, but in every situation…

I did it so much until it calmed my spirit. So much so until I literally forgot what I was worrying about because the Word said to present your requests to God. He didn’t tell me to sit there and think about it until I was upset.

Stay connected to the Vine. Stay in communication with the Teacher. And trust that He will show you the path of life because He’s in you.

What have you asked Holy Spirit to teach you lately?
