Most of us desire to hear well-done good and faithful servant NOT…You wicked and lazy servant!
But how can we hear those words? Let’s look at some examples in Scripture.
In the Garden of Gethsemane Jesus, saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”
Joshua 11:15b NIV says …and Joshua did it; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
Hebrews 11:6a KJV says, Without faith it is impossible to please God.
At least three things that we can do is 1. Yield to the will of the Father. 2. Fulfill our purpose, and 3. Have faith in God to do it.
But why don’t many of us have the faith to fulfill our purpose? Or even to fully believe His promises?
We may be AFRAID that we don’t know how to do it, don’t know what it do, fear of criticism, and a million other reasons…Tell me some other reasons in the comments!
But God says in Isa 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you…
It’s been said that there are 365 Fear NOTS in the Bible—one for everyday…I’m not sure because I didn’t personally count them BUT know this God doesn’t want us to be AFRAID.
Whatever you are afraid of you will attract it to you, so God says “DO NOT FEAR.” Ask Job 3:25
The Bible also says, There is not fear in love, but Perfect love casts out fear. 1 John 4:18a ESV I’ve often wondered what that means exactly….
I’ve thought that because GOD is LOVE and there’s no fear in HIM then why should there be any FEAR in me.
Romans 8:15 says, For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Then why are we still afraid?
When I was young, I used to believe that when I did something wrong that I needed to LIE OR HIDE from my Dad for fear of punishment.
1 John 4:18b For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
We don’t have to be afraid anymore. We need to continually to yield to His PERFECT LOVE and cast out FEAR.
The closer to God we are the LESS fearful we are.
John 3:18 If you’re without Christ you have a lot of fear because you know judgment is coming
Romans 8:1 but once you are in Christ there is now no condemnation…
BUT in Hebrews 12:6 is where WE should focus our attention. For the LORD disciplines those he loves, and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.”
HOW DO I TAKE HOLD (grasp, grip, or seize) FAITH
Don’t hide from God. When we need MERCY, we can REPENT AND come boldly before the throne… Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
And it’s not faith for just ONE thing, BUT FAITH FOR and IN EVERYTHING GOD HAS FOR YOU!!!
Romans 10:17 NKJV So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Read the Word of God
Speak the Word of God
Listen to the Word of God (not just preaching) Listen to the Bible. How about listening and reading.
Or when you’re busy, play the Word in the background. Your Spirit will hear.
Listen to worship music from people who are actually signing the Word of God.
Pray the Word of God (He’s watching over His Word to perform it, BUT if you’re never repeating the Scripture that applies to your situation what is He going to perform?)
Don’t let that devil tell you YOU DON’T HAVE TIME. Are you kidding me! With all of the technology today you can hear the Word just about anytime you want to.
What are you doing in the grocery line getting upset? Put those earbuds in and listen to the word.
Stuck in traffic. Turn on some good teaching.
Waiting to pick up your kids from school meditate on a scripture that will help in your situation.
Don’t just sit there.
James 2:26 says, For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
Let Go of FEAR and Take hold of FAITH so that you can MOVE INTO THE PURPOSE AND PLANS THAT GOD HAS FOR YOU.
