Watch See Believe

Today we’re talking about Watch, See, Believe.

After listening to the Book of Habakkuk repeatedly over the last few weeks to see what the Lord wanted me to know, I heard one word. BELIEF!

In the Book of Habakkuk, God was using the Chaldeans, who are the (Babylonians) to punish Judah for their wickedness. And Habakkuk was complaining because he didn’t see why God would use a people even more wicked to terrorize them.

Here’s what Habakkuk said in chapter 2 verses 1-4

I will stand at my watch and station myself on the ramparts; I will look to see what he will say to me, and what answer I am to give to this complaint. Then the Lord replied: “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. “See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright— but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness— (NASB 1995)

So what did Habakkuk do in this situation?

According to the Scripture, He WATCHED, he LOOKED to SEE what God would SAY to him AND what his RESPONSE would be to God.

Let’s focus on the word WATCH

In Jerm 1:11, the Word says

The Lord asked me, “What do you see, Jeremiah?” I said, “A branch of an almond tree.” (NASB)

The almond tree is a symbol of resurrection because it is the 1st tree to flower and because it may flower as early as late Jan or early Feb;

It’s possible to find almonds flowers where there is still snow on the ground (when things are dead or dormant).

The Hebrew word for almond is shaked and it’ssimilar to that for WATCHFUL, TO WAKE OR TO HASTEN

It symbolizes God’s watchfulness over his people.

The Scripture goes on to say, in Jerm 1:12 The Lord then said, “You are right, for I’m watching over my word until it is fulfilled.” (NASB)

So go back to Habakkuk. He is standing and watching, but Jermiah tells us that GOD, Himself is watching. For what? For His Word so that He can perform it!

The Vision (Your Purpose) is tied to HIS WORD! You have to have the ability to BELIEVE and to SEE the VISION God gave you and to ANSWER PROPERLY, which is to RESPOND IN OBEDIENCE.

If your purpose is tied to the Word…

There was a time that it hadn’t rained in Israel, and Elijah prophesied to King Ahab that it would, so Elijah told his servant to GO & LOOK.

1 Kings 18:41-44 reads,

41 And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go, eat and drink, for there is the sound of a heavy rain.” 42 So Ahab went off to eat and drink, but Elijah climbed to the top of Carmel, bent down to the ground and put his face between his knees.

43 “Go and look toward the sea,” he told his servant. And he went up and looked. “There is nothing there,” he said. Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.” 44 The seventh time the servant reported, “A cloud as small as a man’s hand is rising from the sea.” (NIV)

In other words, it’s about to RAIN!

Ephesians 1:18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints..(NASB 1995)

What have you SEEN?

What did God tell you to DO?

Hab 2:2 tells us to WRITE IT DOWN.

And the Lord answered me: “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. (ESV)

As you PREPARE, ASK the Lord for the RIGHT TIMING. The first part of Hab 2:3 For the revelation awaits an appointed time… (NASB 1995)

We know you’re gifted, talented & anointed, BUT don’t try to do this in your FLESH. I know you CAN do it. It might even be successful from the world’s perspective, BUT in your flesh, it won’t have the RESULTS that God intends.

So, don’t lean to your own understanding.

Hab 2:4 tell, us, “The righteous will live by faith. (NASB 1995) ” So WATCH for what He will say, SEE it in the spirit & BELIEVE that He is FAITHFUL to perform His Word.
