Who Are You Becoming?

A few years ago, I heard the Lord told say to me to, “Pray for the transition.” Of course, many people are in transition all the time. Honestly, I thought that it was my own personal transition. Little did I know the SHIFT that was about to take place.

How have you changed these past few years?

People have become disillusioned, displayed, and discouraged.

But what about the people of God?

What about you?

Who are you becoming in all of this transition? Are you trying to hold onto something OLD that was never good for you?

Are you trying to hold onto the old that was good, but God is trying to take you to the next place of glory?

How you transition makes a difference.

Have you allowed the world to steal your love, joy, or peace?

What about your personality – do you even like who you’ve become? What about your purpose? Your specific calling? (Has it been put on the back burner because you’re building someone else’s. Did God didn’t tell you to at all?  or did He tell you to do it, but now He’s saying it’s time to move on)?

Perhaps you’re stuck in grief because of loss and can’t currently see your way out?

Are you living for you, someone else, or are you living for the Kingdom?

Wherever you find yourself, God is working on you.

Scripture says,

…being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. (Philippians 1:6 NIV)

We’re called to Higher…

A higher level of relationship with Him

A higher level of obedience to Him

A higher level of love for Him

Hebrews 10:35-36 says, “Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised” (Hebrews 10:35-36 ESV)

Yes, I know that sometimes we have our own challenges, and yet God still has expectations of us. There are so many needs in the world. But have you realized that when you are in need, God will send you to help someone else.

Why? Listen to this…

A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. —(Proverbs 11:25 NIV)

So, what should you do?

I remember a man of God telling me to ask God to show me MY PART in the Kingdom.

What’s your role/purpose in God’s story.

Are you comfortable in your current role? Is it the role that you’ve been assigned to by God or is it a role you’re playing?

share,

Take your gifts (the expression that’s uniquely you), and share the message God has given to you to share, and know that He will build you up.

I know a lady who has an anointed SMILE. When she smiles at you it seems as if God Himself is smiling on you.

I have a friend who has a gift to listen and to comfort others. When you’re done talking with her you feel like you’ve been SEEN, HEARD, and UNDERSTOOD.

So, who are you becoming?

We’re all in the process of becoming… The Word tells us…

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV

We’re supposed to be transformed into the image and likeness of God.

If you’re a Christian, yes you’ve been converted. That means “to change,” for example like changing ice to water or dollars to euros, or centimeters to inches.

But God is not just asking us to be converted, but to be transformed (“changed in composition or structure, character, and condition”)

As we yield to God, He continues to re-form us, to re-shape us, from what we have been in the world into the image of His Son.

In the Bible, you see fearful Gideon become LEADER

You see shepherd David become KING

We see baby Samuel become a JUDGE & a PROPHET

Stop, Sit, and Seek the Lord

Ask Him to show you who you are becoming.

If it’s off track, ask Him to show you the course corrections you need to make.

It’s important to ask Him because many times we believe something about ourselves, BUT if we were to ask the Lord, we may have gotten a very different perspective. Take it from me; I know.

So, do not LEAN on your own understanding (Pro 3:5b)– Listen to the Lord for His leading. Sometimes we say Trust in the Lord with all your heart, BUT are we actually trusting Him COMPLETELY?

Ask God to help you in your current transition, give you grace to be obedient in all that He asks of you as you go HIGHER.

And there’s no need to worry…because He says,

“…and when you turn to the right hand, and when you turn to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, “This is the way. Walk in it.” Isaiah 30:21 (WEB)

Who Are We Becoming?

Let’s ALL be transformed into the image and likeness of Christ.

That’s the point of purpose. See you next time.
